Liturgical Dance & Flag Ministry

Dance has for a very long time accompanied various forms of music as an expression of the joy or the feeling generated from the hebraic music. Dancing has evolved from simple movement of body parts to a complex choreographed movement. Liturgical dance entails movement of body parts which accompanies worship as an expression of devotion. Dancers respond to an appropriate dancing technique which coordinates with the music and is believed to improve worship expression and devotion. GAI's Liturgical Dance Ministry may either be spontaneous or have been planned in advance
For Hebrews, liturgical dance, first seen Biblically in Exodus 15:20-21, was seen when the Israelites were crossing the Red Sea. Miriam, who was a prophetess and sister to Moses, who was leading the Israelite, gathered the women to perform a song and dance in worship after they had crossed the Red Sea. Also, in 2 Samuel 6, when King David brought back the Ark of Covenant, the Israelite danced as they celebrated the great deeds of Yahuah. From the Biblical times to the 19th Century, dancing as a form of worship and celebration was popular and common among the Hebraic congregation

Purpose
Psalms 149:3-4 Let them praise His name with the dance. Let them sing praises to Him with the timbrel and harp. For Yahuah takes pleasure in His people. He will beautify the humble with Salvation.
- The Purpose of Hebraic Dance in the Great Awakening:
- To praise Yahuah in the dance—Pslams 149:3
- To love Him with all our heart, soul, mind and strength—Mark 12:30
- To make His praise glorious—Exodus 15:20
- To rejoice and usher in Yah's presence—Psalm 150:4
- To express joy and victory—II Samuel 6:14
- To willingly present our bodies as living sacrifices to the Lord via the dance—Romans 12:1
The dance & flag ministry members do not “perform,” but are in service to Worship. We should lead people into Worship.
Mission
Mission: To bring our nation back in relationship with the Most High Yah, by ushering them into the presence of the Most High through dance, words, deliverance and worship.
Vision
Vision: To establish a solid foundation in the word, leadership abilities, communication skills, trauma, deliverance and prophetic training. We are here to offer up the gift of service and worship to Yahuah through dance.
What Do I Need To Join?
Age requirements: 18 years of and older (Seeking a level of Maturity)
We require that all members:
- Have a home base assembly within the Great Awakening International Assemblies, where you are receiving continual Torah teachings under the leadership of a leading Moreh
- Be committed to set rehearsals and feast days and other community events
- Be in good standing at your local assembly
- Be committed and dependable
- Enjoy the ministry of dance
If you believe you pass the criteria above, you must do the following:
- Fill out the Liturgical Dance/Flag Ministry Interest form below
- Once form has been submitted, you will receive a request in separate email to submit audition video
- If you are chosen, you will receive an email confirmation
*Note- Excessive absences and/or lack of participation in scheduled meetings and/or dance rehearsals will not be acceptable and may lead to your dismissal of the dance flag ministry
